I just checked the stats for my XML file for Writer's Edge, and found more than 4100 hits already for May. I strongly suspect that only measures places that serve blog pings and reader software that checks for a new posts, not the number of people who subscribe through RSS or Atom. There is no way to tell who or how many people read your blog that way. I'd rather have them visit the website--it's much more attractive than a feed!
